“The Bible is the only book whose author is always present when you read it.”
The other day, I tapped into my ‘think tank’ and I found this…
I was actually very hungry at the time of thought, and I had nothing on me, I was headed to work. But I had a sweet in my bag, so I picked it out to ‘quench’ my hunger. For a moment, I wasn’t hungry, but as soon as the sweet was done, I was back to square one.
Let’s take ‘spiritual hunger.’ You read the notification ‘verse of the day’ on the go, you pray as you walk out the door, all all other ‘sweet-ish’ things we do and yes! The satisfaction of “I did my devotion” stays with you, but for a short while.
We (believers in Christ) NEED to feed on the Word, the Bible. Luke 6:45 “…out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks…”, Proverbs 10:11 “…the mouth of the righteous is a fountain of life, but the mouth of the wicked conceals violence…” Proverbs 4:23 “..keep your heart with all vigilance, for from it flow the springs of life…” Romans 10:17 “…so faith comes from hearing through the word of Christ…” and we could go on and on.
Who wouldn’t wanna be speaking so much God-inspired goodness every time they open their mouth?
Also, the word of God is a nutritious full diet meal, so you can be sure you will live intentionally!
Imagine how you feel when you’ve had a mouth watering sumptuous meal, now the word of God is more eternal is more like a fountain which never runs dry, your heart is constantly filled with life.
Let’s head on over and grab our meal .
Love and Hugs!
